RECOMMENDED KITCHEN GEAR
This might be the most important kitchen gadget. It does so many things! It's a must have for cookies, sandwich bread, dumpling filling and meat grinding!
We use this thing for so many recipes! It's great for making rice, yogurt, beans without soaking, bone broth, stews, soups and more!

This is definitely a heavy-lifter in our kitchen.
There is nothing better for long-cooking meat. If you have a tougher piece that needs to get softer before grilling or broiling, this is the tool you need! We have made some of the best meats with this! A game changer for sure.
This is great if you bulk buy anything for the freezer. It's also a great thing to have for the sous vide. The vacuum bags are a little thicker than Zipper bags, and made to resist extreme temperatures better.
The air fryer is a new favorite item in our kitchen. It's surprisingly useful. We were given one as a gift and it has been used most days. It makes really great french fries and nuggies for the kids. It also makes really good, crispy dumplings and more.
You absolutely need to have a good scale if you are going to do any baking. There is just not a good way to volume measure dry ingredients for bread and a decent scale is key. It's also useful for measuring meats. We make a mac and cheese with sodium citrate that has to be measured by weight as well.
A good meat thermometer is essential for getting your meat cooked just right. This is absolutely necessary for roasted and BBQ meats that have to cook for a long time.
The Coffee / spice grinder is very useful for (obviously) grinding spices. We use it often to make our own meat rubs and spice blends.
The Oster Classic Blender is an absolute must! The blender base comes off for easy cleaning, and blade versatility. Also, you can screw the base onto a standard mason jar if you want to make smaller batches of things and smoothies. You can ready about this hack on the Adventure Sandal Blog here.
My immersion blender became absolutely necessary when I was making my own soap. It's also become invaluable in the kitchen! If you like blended soups or smooth gravies you need an immersion blender. Transferring hot liquids to a countertop blender, in batches is dangerous, difficult and potentially very messy.
